Kohls - Route 1, Seabrook, NH.jpg - Kohl's - Lafayette Rd. (Route 1), Seabrook, NH. Adjacent to a Lowe’s Home Improvement Center Jones & Beach completed in 2004, this project consisted of a 89,911 sf Kohl's department store, an attached 12,500 sf retail space, and a 5,500 sf restaurant outparcel. With a new traffic signal on Route 1 and additional offsite improvements to Boynton Lane and an adjoining shopping center, the project provided a new egress from the Seabrook Community Center and also tied into the Lowe’s facility at three points, providing appropriate traffic mitigation and expanding site interconnectivity to over a one third mile portion of this busy commercial corridor. Working with Municipal, State, and Federal Regulators, the project team incorporated a number of design elements to minimize impacts to the nearby resource areas of Mary’s Brook and Mary’s Pond. With steep slopes, retaining walls, and a comprehensive water sampling program, Jones & Beach took every possible care to reduce and monitor the project’s environmental footprint. A substantial sound wall was also included to reduce acoustic disturbances to neighboring residences. During construction, the firm’s inspectors kept a meticulous eye on quality and compliance, ensuring the client the best possible product. Once completed, the project will stand as a model to the thorough interdisciplinary approach to retail development that only Jones & Beach can provide.
