Lowe's - Manchester Drive, N. Windham, ME.jpg - Lowe's - Manchester Drive, N. Windham, ME. Placed on a hill behind the local Wal-Mart in N. Windham’s busy Route 3 corridor, this 169,793 sf Lowe's Home Improvement Center afforded a challenging engineering opportunity. Sitting astride three crude oil transmission lines, the 23.75-acre parcel also abutted a major interstate natural gas pipeline. Complicating this, the project required extensive blasting and the removal of 115,000 cubic yards of ledge. Working with the contractor and the respective utility service providers, Jones & Beach was able to orchestrate a flawless phasing sequence that allowed this potentially catastrophic mix of elements to be negotiated without incident. Permitted through a Maine DEP Site Location of Development Application, the project included a thorough environmental analysis and stormwater mitigation plan. Throughout construction, the firm’s diligent inspectors ensured that all work was done in complete accordance with the plans and specifications while keeping to an accelerated work schedule. With the knowledge that only experience can bring, Jones & Beach’s guided the development through the site’s difficult conditions and enabled on-time pad delivery and key turn over.
