Civil Project Engineer

Jones & Beach Engineers, Inc. has an opening for a motivated Civil Project Engineer in our Stratham, New Hampshire office location.

Job Description

As a civil project engineer, job responsibilities will include designing roads, residential developments, commercial sites, stormwater management design and modeling, utility design, as well as Town, State and Federal permitting. You will be designing every aspect of a project from initial concept to construction. This provides excellent opportunities for learning, growth, and advancement. It is important for all of us to be well-rounded engineers. Work directly with the whole team on a day-to-day basis including the owners of the company who all have 20+ years of experience in civil engineering.

We have a very collaborative, flexible, fast paced, but fun work environment. Candidates will need the ability to perform in a deadline environment, be a resourceful problem solver, and have excellent time management skills.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Associate Degree in Civil Technology or relevant work experience
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Carlson, Microsoft Office and Windows. Experience with ArcGIS and HydroCAD a plus
• EIT Certification or ability to obtain EIT Certification desired.

Wetland Scientist

Jones & Beach Engineers, Inc. has an opening for self-motivated Wetland Scientist in our Stratham, New Hampshire office location. This position can be full-time or part-time. Flexible work hours including a hybrid work schedule are permitted – office work can be done either in the office or from home. Field work will be predominantly in New Hampshire with some fieldwork in northern Massachusetts and southern Maine.

This is a full-time position and qualifies for all our employee benefits. Salary and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 are dependent on experience.

Perform natural resource field work including, but not limited to, wetland delineations and functional assessments, wildlife habitat evaluations, invasive species mapping, and environmental permit compliance monitoring.
Prepare and review technical reports and memos.
Prepare and review planting plans for wetland restoration and buffering projects.
Prepare and review applications for wetlands and shoreland impacts for local and state permitting.
Coordinate with local and State regulatory agencies regarding project permitting.
Occasionally present projects to local Boards such as Planning Boards and Conservation Commissions.
Characterize soil profiles and identify seasonal high-water table.
Navigate properties, sometimes large/forested and comfortability performing field work independently.
Candidates shall be able to perform physical tasks such as clearing brush, hammering grade stakes, and lifting and carrying approximately 40 lbs. of equipment in all types of terrain and year-round weather conditions.
· Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Wildlife Ecology, or related field.

New Hampshire Wetland Scientist Certification (CWS) license required. New Hampshire Soil Scientist Certification (CSS) or wetland scientist licenses in other states a plus.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to use GPS for navigation and to record field data a plus.
Ability/willingness to work in outdoor situations and travel on a regular basis to project sites throughout New Hampshire, southern Maine, and northern Massachusetts.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows required. Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, ArcGIS and/or HydroCAD a plus.
